SOP for Operating Procedure of Oven for Incubation

OBJECTIVE

To define the operation of the instrument for better and error free use of the same.

SCOPE

This procedure is applicable to Oven for incubation at 55℃, installed in Micro lab.

RESPONSIBILITY

Doing: Technical Assistant/Executive

Checking : Executive /Manager

ACCOUNTABILITY

Head of the department.

PROCEDURE

• Clean the instrument with a dry clean cloth.
• Switch “ON” the mains.
• Set the temperature 55℃ by temp. Control knob.
• Put the calibrated glass thermometer into the pocket of oven.
• Open the door and keep the medium tubes.
• Observed the temperature with the help of calibrated thermometer three times in every working days when the medium tubes are kept in oven up to its incubation period.
• After the completion of incubation period, take out the medium tubes from oven.
• Turn the temperature control knob to “0” position and switch “OFF” the mains.
