SOP for Cleaning of Drum Jockey

Objective
The Objective of this SOP is to provide detailed instructions and the procedural control method for cleaning of Drum jockey liquid manufacturing department in the production department.

Scope
The scope of this SOP is to lay down the detailed procedure, requirements, and precautions to clean the drum jockey that is being used to lift the barrels containing liquid glucose.

Responsibility
Performance: Worker, Operator, and Technician Responsible for carrying out the activity.
Checking: Production Supervisor, Technical Staff, and above to counter take a look at the activity.

Accountability
HOD: Production/Assigned Designee for Overall Implementation in the System with powerful Procedural management to compliance
HOD QA/Designee: Responsible for review, and approval of the Master file and compliance with the method in the production department.

Procedure
  • Remove the” To be cleaned” label.
  • Clean the clamp, legs and handle with a wet clean cloth to remove any material adhered to it.
  • Wipe dry with a smooth lint-free cloth.
  • Do not wipe steel cable or bearing rail, which are greased.
  • Affix the “Cleaned” label.

Precaution
Never try to clean the Drum jockey when the drum is in an equipped position. Necessary precaution for protection issues and others if relevant as required.


Acceptance Criteria
The drum jockey should be cleaned before any use.

Frequency:
Cleaning is to be done after every use
As and when required and before the use of Equipment.
