SOP for Operation & Cleaning procedure for Octagonal Blender

Objective
To define the operation and cleaning procedures for the octagonal blender.

Scope
This procedure applies to all Production sections of PharmaInfo Ltd.

Procedure For Integrity
  • To check the cleanliness of the Octagonal blender, remove the “CLEANED EQUIPMENT” status label and Affix the “EQUIPMENT IN USE” label.
  • Take line clearance from the IPQA officer.
  • Take the telescopic cage in a vertical position.
  • Lower the telescopic cage by pressing a button on the operating panel (down).
  • Place the filled Bin inside the cage by using a pallet truck and close the railing.
  • Lift the telescopic cage by pressing the up button on the operating panel (up).
  • Set the blending time & speed (slow/fast) of the blender in PLC.
  • Start the blender by touching START in MMI.
  • After blending time is over Blender will automatically switch over to creep speed and stop in vertical position.
  • To unload the Bin lower down the telescoping cage by pressing the down button provided on the operating panel.
  • Place the pallet truck below the Bin and take out the Bin for the next process.


Cleaning of OCTAGONAL BLENDER

1. Type A Cleaning: (Product to Product)
  • Clean the Octagonal Bin by using the Bin Wash Assembly or manually and keep in the clean Equipment room.
  • Clean the telescopic cage by 100 ltr. potable water until it is visually clean, scrub it with 0.5% teepol solution, and wash with 100 ltr. potable water.
  • Rinse the cage finally with 100 liters of purified water.
  • Clean the external surface of the Octagonal blender, panel board, railing, and main shaft with wet lint-free cloth and dry with dry lint-free cloth.
  • Affix a “CLEANED EQUIPMENT” status label to the blender.
  • Maintain record.

2. Type B Cleaning: ( Batch to Batch)
  • Dismantle the main switch of the Octagonal blender.
  • Without dismantling the machine parts the powder from the previous batch label and material is to be removed and cleaned with clean, dry lint-free cloth.
  • Place a “TO BE CLEANED EQUIPMENT” status label on the blender.
  • Record the activity in the respective equipment log.


3. Type C Cleaning: (End of the shift)
  • Without dismantling the machine parts the powder from the machine is to be removed And cleaned with a clean, dry lint-free cloth at the end of the shift.
  • Record the activity in the respective equipment log.
