SOP for Operation of Sieve Shaker (Table Top)

PURPOSE
To provide an instruction for the operation of the Sieve Shaker (Table Top).

SCOPE
This procedure is applicable for the Operation of the Sieve Shaker (Table Top) in the Quality Control Department at PharmaInfo Limited.

RESPONSIBILITY
QC personnel
  • To initiate the Document Change Request.
  • To prepare or revise the SOPs.
  • To provide the training as per new or revised SOPs.
QC Manager
  • To review the new and revised SOPs.
  • (The person who has prepared shall refrain from reviewing/approving the SOP).
  • To ensure that the training is provided to all the required personnel.

QA Manager
  • To approve the new and revised SOPs.

QA Personnel
  • To prepare the master and control copies of the SOPs.
  • To Distribute, Retrieve, Archive, and destroy the controlled copies of SOPs.
  • To maintain, control, and distribute all the SOPs at the site.


PROCEDURE

Operation of Sieve Shaker (Table Top)

  • Ensure that the instrument is clean.
  • Fix the rods on the top plate of the instrument and ensure that they are tightly fitted.
  • Loosen the sieve clamp knob until the rubber pan holder touches the horizontal bar.
  • Loosen both the rod clamping knobs.
  • Place the material to be sieved into the sieve.
  • Place the horizontal bar above the sieves so that the rubber pad touches the sieve.
  • Lock the bar to the vertical rod by turning the rod clamping knob in a clockwise direction.
  • Now lock both the sieve clamp knobs by turning it in clockwise direction
  • Switch “ON” the main supply switch on the instrument.
  • Set the desired time by the TIMER key.
  • Control the speed by rotating the speed knob in a clock /anti-clockwise direction.
  • Switch Off the instrument, after sieving is finished.
