SOP for Cleaning Procedure for Bottle Labelling Machine

OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure for cleaning of bottle labeling machine.

SCOPE

This procedure covers the cleaning of the bottle labeling machine in the Packing Department.

RESPONSIBILITY

The concerned operator is responsible for the implementation of the process.

The In-Charge is responsible for the execution and compliance of the procedure.

PROCEDURE

• Switch off the main power supply.
• Remove gum from the gum holder.
• Remove labels from the label holder.
• Wash the gum holder, the gum roller and the associated area thoroughly with water.

• Soak the gum roller in water and remove the adhering gum with the help of a moist cloth.

• Remove any soiled labels, count them and give to the packaging supervisor for destruction.
• Clean all the other parts of the machine with water and attach a status label to indicate that it has been CLEANED.
• All the operation details shall be entered in the equipment cleaning log book.
