SOP for Cleaning of Stirrer

PURPOSE
To lay down the cleaning procedure for the Stirrer.

SCOPE
This SOP shall be applicable for the Stirrer in the manufacturing area in the Production department.

PROCEDURE
  • Put “OFF” the electrical supply.
  • Dismantle the shaft and propeller of the stirrer.
  • Clean the shaft, sides, and base of the propeller with 15-liter Potable water and 2.5 % “Teepol” solution at least two times till the residue is washed off.
  • Clean thoroughly with 20-liter Potable water to remove the detergent completely.
  • Finally, rinse all the parts with 20 liters of purified water, and wipe off with 70% v/v solution of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA).
  • Affix the “Cleaned" label and fill in the “Equipment Log Book” (Annexure-I).
  • Re-clean if not used within 72 hours.
