SOP for Operation & Performance Check Procedure for Water Purification System

OBJECTIVE

To lay down the procedure for the Operation & Performance Check of the Puris water purification system for better and error-free use.

SCOPE

This procedure is applicable to the Puris water purification system installed in Q.C. Department at XYZ Limited

RESPONSIBILITY

Execution – Chemist and above -QC Department

Checking - Asst. Manager and above -QC Department

PROCEDURE

OPERATION PROCEDURE

• Switch ‘ON’ the mains.
• Switch ‘ON’ the instrument.
• Open the valve for the RO water system
• Press the UP ON/OFF Key for 5 sec
• Press the UP ON/OFF Key again to produce the estimated amount of water
• Press the menu key to stop working

PERFORMANCE CHECK PROCEDURE:

• Operate the instrument as per the operating procedure mentioned above.
• Take the required quantity of sample of water to perform the tests for determination of pH, conductivity, Total coliforms, Fecal coliforms, and for Total Viable Count
• Record the results of the above-mentioned tests as per Annexure-1

Replacement of filter and membranes of Lab Water system and RO system

• Filter and membranes of the Lab Water system & RO system shall be changed as per the frequency mention below and the record shall be maintained as per annexure-2
