SOP for Operation of LUX Meter and Monitoring LUX Level

OBJECTIVE

To lay down the procedure for the operation of the LUX meter and monitor the lux level. 

SCOPE

This SOP shall be applicable for monitoring the lux levels in production areas, sampling, and dispensing booths by using LUX meter Q 033929.

PROCEDURE

Operation of LUX Meter 

• Switch “ON” the lux meter. 
• Ensure the initial reading should be “Zero”, otherwise adjust the zero by using “Zero offsets”.

1. Range A. measures 0 to 1999 LUX resolution 1. 
2. Range B. measures 2000 to 19990 LUX resolution 10. 
3. Range C. measures 20000 to 500000 LUX resolution 100. 

• Slide the switch as per the requirement (A or B or C). 
• Hold the light sensor facing towards the light. 
• The display will show Lux value. 
• The multiplication of the displayed value with the multiplying factor will be the actual lux. 

Monitoring of LUX Level

• Hold the lux meter at a minimum of five locations. 
• Measure the lux at 1-meter height from ground level. 
• Record the readings in lux level monitoring record. 
• The average lux of all readings will be the lux level in the room.

• Acceptance Criteria: The lux level measured shall not be less than, 400 lux for production areas and 300 lux for sampling and dispensing booths 
• Frequency: once a year.
