SOP for Cleaning Procedure of Empty PVC Bottles

OBJECTIVE
To lay down a procedure for cleaning of empty PVC Bottles.

SCOPE
This procedure applies for the Beta-Lactam production department in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities of XYZ Limited, Formulation division. This procedure covers the cleaning of empty PVC bottles.

RESPONSIBILITY
The beta-lactam dry syrup filling operator is responsible for the implementation of the process.
The Beta-Lactam In-Charge is responsible for the execution and compliance of the procedure.


PROCEDURE
  • Carry the bottles to the bottles inspection area, unload and inspect them and reject damaged bottles before sending them for cleaning.
  • Turn on the compressor and switch ON the blower and check that dry air is blown.
  • Hold the bottles in an inverted, upside-down position on the blower neck and pass dry compressed air in the bottles.
  • Switch OFF the blower and compressor.
  • Visually inspect the bottles after blowing and reject any damaged or uncleaned bottles.
  • Check the bulb and remove water collected from the compressed air with line.
  • Take these cleaned bottles to the filling area, and use them for filling of dry syrup.
  • The balance of the remaining bottles should be returned to the store.
  • Check the pressure and compressor valves for leakage daily.
