SOP for Use of Instrument Log Book for Instrument / Equipment Status

OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure to update the Equipment Status for each operation during day-to-day work.

SCOPE

This SOP shall apply to the equipment used in the Quality Control Laboratory during analysis at PharmaInfo Limited.

RESPONSIBILITY

Execution: Chemist and above – QC department.

Checking: Asst. Manager and above – QC department

PROCEDURE

• The Logbook for instruments should be prepared as per Annexure - 1.
• Log books should be kept near the respective instrument/equipment upon issuance.
• During the operation of instrument/equipment, record the details in the respective instrument/equipment log book.

• All the respective instrument/equipment log book entries shall be done online.

• Any missed or late entry in the respective instrument/equipment log book shall be done on the current date and shall be checked by a supervisor.
• All the entries in the instrument/equipment log book shall be done correctly and written clearly. In case of any mistake, one shall make a single line cut and write again correctly along with the sign and date.
