SOP for Operation of Refrigerator

OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure for the operation of the Refrigerator. (Make: LG, Model: GRM252XML) for better and error-free use.

SCOPE

This SOP shall be applicable for the Operating procedure of the Refrigerator (Make: LG, Model: GRM252XML) in the Quality Control Laboratory at PharmaInfo Limited

RESPONSIBILITY

Execution: Chemist and above – QC department.

Checking: Chemist and above – QC department.

PROCEDURE

Operational Procedure

• Ensure that the instrument power supply is connected to the main power supply and switch “ON” the mains.
• The instrument contains a refrigerator on the lower side and a deep freezer on the upper side.

• To adjust the temperature of the refrigerator and deep freezer, a display board is available inside the refrigerator
• Place the required items into the refrigerator/ deep freeze after the temperature is reached.
• Record the temperature of the refrigerator and deep freezer twice a day and record the observed temperature in Annexure QCD060/A01-00
• The temperature in the refrigerator should be 2 to 8°C and in the freezer should be -25 to -10°C

PRECAUTIONS

• The door shall be closed firmly.
• The door shall be opened for the minimum time.
• Refrain from overloading the fridge with samples.
• Once the temperature is set, do not disturb the Reference and Freezer temperature buttons.
