To describe the procedure for the installation, operation and maintenance of the Vortex Mixer
This procedure is applicable to mix the solution or to dissolve the various substances into the solvent.

Procedure
Installation
- Place on a level surface and plug the cord into a mains supply.
- Place the desired attachment onto the shaft and rotate until the ‘flats’ align.
- Press the attachment down firmly until it snaps into place.
- Grasp and pull straight up the installed attachment until it is released from the shaft if another type of attachment needs to be used.
Operation
Continuous Operation
- Push the switch to the ‘ON’ position.
- Turn the speed control knob to setting No.3 on the dial.
- Observe that the attachment is immediately set in motion.
- Place the sample tube on top of the attachment and keep it steady.
- Vary the speed on the dial and/or the angle of contact and pressure against the mixing attachment to achieve the desired mix.
- Return the switch to the ‘OFF’ position once finished.
Intermittent Operation
- Push the switch to the ‘TOUCH’ position.
- Turn the speed control knob to setting No.3 on the dial.
- Touch the sample tube with the attachment to observe motion and keep it steady.
- Vary the speed on the dial and/or the angle of contact and pressure against the mixing attachment to achieve the desired mix.
- Return the switch to the ‘OFF’ position once finished.
Maintenance
- Unplug the mixer from its power supply before attempting any cleaning measures.
- Keep the unit clean by immediately blotting any spills.
- Use a moistened cloth or sponge with mild detergent to clean the outside surface.
- Replace rubber attachments with new ones when these show progressive signs of wear.
Precautions
- The mixer may become warm to the touch when in constant use, however, performance will not be affected.
- Do not lift the mixer from its removable rubber attachments.
- Avoid wetting and unnecessary exposure to fumes.
