SOP for Personal Hygiene

Purpose

To define the reasons for issuing of Standard Operating Procedures the manner of their preparation, formatting, methods of issue, distribution, and control in PharmaInfo Ltd.

Scope

This SOP relates to all Standard Operating Procedures issued at Pharmainfo Ltd.

Responsibilities

All Staff, Supervisors, and Managers are responsible for being familiar with SOPs in their respective areas of operation and initiating SOPs as required.

Procedure

Health

• Any personnel should not be allowed to work in the production process if:
• He has an open lesion, a skin rash, and another skin disease.
• He contacts an infection in the upper respiratory tract, catches a cold, coughs or is allergic to materials, personal suffering from the above-mentioned disease should report to his immediate supervisor.
• Undergo a periodic health examination.
• After an absence, because of a communicable disease, an appropriate health examination is made to determine fitness before resuming work.
• The supervisor should be alert of any signs or symptoms of an unhealthy condition or contagious disease of personnel working in the production areas.

Personal Cleanliness

Every personnel should perform a habit of personal cleanliness such as:

• Regulatory taking bath.
• Washing hands in the toilet room often visiting the toilet. An informative training should be given concerning use of soap and the method of using hand washing facilities.
• Keeping hair cleaned, and combing of hair is strictly forbidden in all areas expected in the locker rooms.
• Prohibited to wear jeweler that are likely to fall into the product e.g. ear ring, bracelets and other ornaments.
• Wearing the minimum makeup, prohibited wearing false eye lashes and other cosmetic materials which could fall into the products.
• Nail should not keep long; they must be trimmed carefully, free from scabbed and visible dirt.

Hygienic Behavior

• Chewing, and consumption of food and beverage are strictly prohibited.
• Smoking is prohibited.

Clean Clothing

• All personnel working in the production area should wear a clean dress.
• All personnel entering the sterile areas should wear protective clean sterile clothing.
• Sterile working clothes and other sterile protectives such as caps, gloves, and mustache and beard covers should be worn correctly.
• Sterile working clothes should not be worn outside the sterile areas.
• Clothes should not have pockets at the upper part above the waist because goods kept in them could fall into the product during processing.

Action

• Wash hands, face, and legs thoroughly with soap or liquid soap and scrub fingernails when necessary using soap or liquid Soap.
• Rinse the face, hands, and legs thoroughly with water and make sure that there is no residue of soap or liquid soap.
• Dry hands, face or legs with a disposable paper towel (or single service towel).
• After drying, do not touch anything which could re-contaminate the hands. If unavoidable repeat washing procedure steps (1) through (3).
