SOP for Operation of Ultrasonic Bath (Model: WUC-D104)

OBJECTIVE

To lay down the procedure for the Operation of ultrasonic bath for better and error-free use

SCOPE

This SOP is applicable for ultrasonic bath installed in the Quality Control Department at XYZ Limited.

RESPONSIBILITY

Execution : Chemist and above – QC department.

Checking : Asst. Manager and above – QC department

PROCEDURE

Operational Procedure

• Ensure that the surrounding working area is clean.
• Check that the instrument is connected to the power supply.
• Check that distilled water is filled in an ultrasonic batch up to 1/4th of the total depth
• If water is hazy or dirty drain the water from the outlet valve provided on the right side of the instrument and replace it with fresh distilled water.

• Switch on the mains and then switch ON the instrument by the ON / OFF key provided on the front side of the instrument and ensure that the instrument is working properly.

• Control the strength of sonication from the power controller.
• Select the TIME by MODE button and set the operating time by the UP/DOWN button.
• Select the TEMP by the MODE button and set the operating temperature by the UP/DOWN button.
• After inputting all parameters, push the START/STOP button to start sonication.

Precautions

• Never operate an empty bath
• Always remove the mains plug from the supply when emptying the bath
• Never use toxic, flammable, acidic, or corrosive solutions.
