To minimize breakdown time and maintenance cost of equipment to obtain optimum performance.
SCOPE
The service covers general maintenance for long intervals (yearly/monthly) and short intervals (daily/weekly).
RESPONSIBILITY
Engineering Technicians: responsible for monthly and yearly interval checks.
Operators: responsible for daily and weekly checks.
Assistant Manager Engineering, Production Manager, and Production Supervisors: responsible for making machines available for preventive maintenance in time.
PRODUCTION
Routine Maintenance Daily
Check the following before operating the machine.
- Inspect and clean product contact parts: hopper, chutes, release pin, and bowl.
- Inspect and clean foil running shafts, and sealing rollers.
- Check/record the speed of machine output and temperature of sealing rollers.
- Check vibrator operation, feeding, vertical and horizontal cuttings adjust if necessary.
Routine maintenance weekly
- Checks, cutter assembly guide bolts, tighten if loose.
- Check the grub screw on the cutter drive bevel gear set, tighten if loose.
- Check connection in a dimmer state, heater terminals and body earth connections tighten if loose.
Monthly preventive maintenance (long interval checks).
- Check, motor fixing bolts, gearbox fixing bolts, gear box bearing brackets bolts, main drive shaft housing bolts, and cutter drive bolts, tighten if loose.
- Check camshaft bearing housing bolts, brush shaft housing bolts, grub screw on roller shaft drive sprocket, and tighten if loose.
- Check, grub screw on feed disc drive sprocket, feed disc-drive shaft bearing housing, check lock nut on helical spur for disc drive, feed chute holder bracket bolts, brush shaft gears and sprocket grub, screws – tighten if loose.
- Check/tighten heater pipe collars.
- Check/tighten foil holder bracket bolts, and check/tighten brake band.
ELECTRICAL CHECKS
Monthly (long interval) checks.
- Check/clean/tighten connections in the motor terminal box, and motor contactor O/L remote control box on/inch/off button elements.
- Check/clean/tighten vibrator parts, socket terminal, control box terminal, and control switch, and replace if necessary.
General Electrical
- Check terminal strip, neutral, mains, and body switch connections
LUBRICATION
Oil
- Cutter wedge block – daily
- Release pin shaft bush – daily
- Foil holder pipes assembly – weekly
- Release pin guide assembly – weekly.
- Foil holder pipes – weekly.
- Check and top up the oil in the gearbox.
- Replace oil in the gearbox after 1000 hours of operation.
GREASING
- Check, clean, grease, conveyer, drive bearing housing – multipurpose grease.
- Check, clean, grease-cutting shaft main housing bearing, main shaft bearing, cutter center pivot pin, release pin actuator arm – multipurpose grease.
- Check, clean, and grease camshaft bearing housing, and roller shaft bearing housing: - Heat-resistant grease.
- Clean and apply grease to all shafts, idlers, gears and sprockets, and chains with – multipurpose grease.
