SOP for Disposal of Effluent Waste Water

OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure for the disposal of effluent wastewater.

SCOPE

This procedure applies to the production department in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities.

RESPONSIBILITY

The Q.C Chemist is responsible for the implementation of the process.

The in-Charge is responsible for the execution and compliance of the procedure.

PROCEDURE

• All the liquid waste from the department is drained out through the washing bay into the ETP.
• The pH of the waste liquid in the ETP is checked and noted daily and Quality Control is informed accordingly.

• Depending on the pH, the quality control advises on how to neutralize the liquid in the ETP tank.
• This process is carried out accordingly.
• From here the treated waste is allowed to drain out so as to prevent environmental pollution.
