SOP for Cleaning Procedure for Disintegration Test Apparatus

OBJECTIVE

To lay down the procedure for cleaning of Disintegration Test Apparatus

SCOPE

This SOP shall be applicable for the Disintegration Test Apparatus installed in the Quality Control Laboratory at PharmaInfo Limited

RESPONSIBILITY

Execution: Chemist and above-QC department

PROCEDURE

Frequency:

Assembly: After every use.

Water Bath: Once a week or when required.

• Switch ‘OFF ’the instrument.
• Remove the temperature probes from the instrument.
• For cleaning of Assembly

1. On completion of every disintegration test, remove the jars and basket assembly along with the discs.
2. Wash them properly with water and keep them aside.

• For water bath

1. Switch ‘OFF’ the mains and remove the main plug from the socket, unscrew the top plate of the water bath.
2. Remove the water bath and take a water bath near the tap water.
3. Wash it with tap water and then with detergent and again it with tap water until no foam of detergent remains in the bath.
4. After complete removal of all detergent, wash the water bath with water.
5. Place the water bath to its original place.
6. Fill the water bath with water up to the mark.
7. Record the details of cleaning in the log book of the instrument as per the current version of SOP.

Note: In between when water becomes dirty, change the water of the water bath.
