SOP for Pass Box for Raw Materials (Sampling Area)

OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure for the operation of the pass box.

SCOPE

This procedure applies to the Warehouse department in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities of XYZ Limited.

RESPONSIBILITY

The Warehouse staff is responsible for the implementation of the process.

The Warehouse in-Charge or his designee has to ensure compliance.

PROCEDURE

• Switch on the main switch for the pass box.
• The pass box has two doors on both sides.
• The pass box has an Infrared light inside the pass box, make sure that light is on.
• The pass box has two doors one in the raw material entry and the other in the dispensing area.
• The pass box generates magnetic flux and only one door on any one side opens at a time.

• Open the door in the side of the raw material store and pass the raw material drum and close the door.
• Open the other door on the dispensing side, remove the raw material, and close the door.
• Make sure that no human should pass in the pass box as the infrared light is dangerous to the body.
• Pass the raw material from the dispensing side and close the door.
• Make sure the main switch for the pass box is on during dispensing.
• Put off the main switch when the pass box is not in use.
