SOP for General Housekeeping

PURPOSE
To provide a procedure for cleaning & sanitization of all the areas within factory premises.

SCOPE
This procedure applies to all PharmaInfo Ltd. sites for general cleaning & sanitization in plant premises.

PROCEDURE
Cleaning & disinfection shall be performed as-
Walls, Ceiling & Floors
  • Clean the wall and ceiling with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Brooming the floor thoroughly, the dust/waste collected in the dust bin shall be emptied.
  • Mop the floor with the detergent solution as per the concentration & schedule in Table 1.
  • Mop the area with tap water.
  • Wipe the area with the disinfectant solution as per concentration in Purified water as per the schedule defined in Table 1.
  • Record the activity in the cleaning record as per Annexure I.


Corridors
  • Remove any stain present on the corridors.
  • Clean the corners of the walls and floor with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Mop the floor with the detergent solution as per the concentration & schedule in Table 1.
  • Mop the area with tap water.
  • Wipe the area with a disinfectant solution in purified water as per Table 1.
  • Record the activity in the cleaning record as per Annexure I.

Doors, Windows & Glass panels
  • Remove any stain/dust present on the doors, windows & glass panels with a lint-free cloth.
  • Clean the doors & windows with a dry mop.
  • Mop the doors and floors with a wet cloth.
  • Record the activity in the cleaning record as per Annexure I.


Pallets
  • Clean the pallets with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Remove any adhered material with suitable means.
  • For plastic pallets clean them with tap water and mop them with a solution.
  • Record the activity in the cleaning record as per Annexure I.
  • Ledges, Supply Grill & return Grill, Light Fixtures:
  • Clean the Ledges, Supply the Grill & return the Grill with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Clean the light fixture with a cloth duster.
  • Record the activity in the cleaning record as per Annexure I.


Toilet
  • Clean the Toilet using 5 % phenyl or Harpic.
  • Wipe the floor with a wiper to remove water.
  • Record the activity in the cleaning record as per Annexure II.
  • Cleaning of all areas shall be done as per frequency as defined in table 2.
  • The disinfectant solution shall be prepared daily.
  • Take 2 buckets; in one add the required quantity of disinfectant solution & plain water in the other bucket.
  • Dip the mop in the disinfectant solution & swab the area with a floor wiper.
  • As & when the mop gets dirty, clean it in the bucket containing water, squeeze dry & again dip in the Disinfectant solution, Squeeze dry & continue cleaning.
  • The disinfectant used for sanitization shall be changed as per the schedule defined in table-I.
  • After cleaning & sanitation are completed concerned supervisor shall ensure that the area has been properly cleaned & shall record the same in Annexure I.
