SOP for Pest Control Measures

OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure for pest control measures.

SCOPE

This procedure applies to the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities of Pharmainfo Limited.

RESPONSIBILITY

The Warehouse staff is responsible for the implementation of the process.

The Warehouse in-charge or his designee has to ensure compliance.

PROCEDURE

• The factory surroundings shall be kept clean to eliminate the breeding grounds for pests. This shall involve promptly removing garbage, clearing drains, and regular grass and hedge trimming.
• Construction of the premises shall be such as to limit the number of openings that could serve as entry points for pests.

• Further to limit the entry of pests:

1. The door to each department shall have an air curtain to isolate it from the external environment.
2. Doors shall be provided with a self-shutting facility to keep them closed all the time.
3. All drains shall be provided with screens.
4. Ventilators shall also be provided with meshes of minimal size.
5. Each floor in the factory shall be provided with electrical insect traps.
6. Storage areas shall be provided with mechanical rodent traps.
7. Records shall be maintained for the mechanical pesticides Annexure-01.
